Prominent Speakers and Participants at the CSR Meetings in Puebla and Lima

The World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB) and the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP) organized the CSR Meetings in Puebla on November 28 at the BUAP Theater.

This event covered the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility in the business world. It also discussed ways that some companies incorporate CSR policies as an essential part of their competitive advantage.

Today, Companies have shown a greater interest in enriching their knowledge regarding good business practices, and at the same time benefit from socially responsible policies.

It is important to highlight that the event was held as followed: The first panel discussed Good CSR practices and the second covered Socially Responsible communication.

In the first panel, the participants were: The Vice-Chancellor of Postgraduate Research and Studies, Dr. Ygnacio Martínez; The General Director of Cine Americas, Roberto Quintero, and the Director of Quality and CSR of WORLDCOB, Eng. Daniel Javier.

In this part, the speakers demonstrated that the application of socially responsible policies can generate value for a Company, without the need to spend considerable sums of money or implement complex procedures.

In the second panel the speakers were: The Deputy Director of V Más Ideas, Miguel Hernández and the Director of Volátil, Jorge León. In this part, the role of the most important challenges regarding CSR communication and how to overcome them was discussed. In addition, action guidelines for Companies were provided.

On the other hand, the CSR Meetings were a great occasion to highlight the efforts of the Mexican Companies that obtained the WORLDCOB CSR 2011.3 certification after a rigorous verifications process. These Companies were able to demonstrate how they promote good labor relationships and maintain a firm responsibility to the society and the environment.

In general, it is important to note that the certifications help to generate trust. This is because it refers to a third party that endorses (based on a set standard and audit procedures) the company, ensuring that they keep their word.

The fact that a company obtains the WORLDCOB-CSR: 2011.3 certification indicates that said Company has successfully passed the WORLDCOB auditing process. In addition, it reveals to a reasonable degree that the Company is fulfilling the set of standards required.

On the other hand, on December 05, WORLDCOB organized the CSR Meetings in the city of Lima, Peru where prominent speakers were able to attend. The subjects covered how to successfully communicate CSR actions, and in the second, Successful CSR Experiences.

In the first panel, the participants were: Ernesto Pye, Vice-president of Pacific Latam; Anais Urbano, Commercial Director (Andean Regio). In this part of the event, the main challenges entailing CSR communications and how to overcome them were discussed. In addition, action guidelines for Companies were provided.

In the second panel, the speakers were Dra. Gladys Vanessa Zorrilla Garay, Executive Coordinator of the Ministry of Labor (Responsible Peru Program), the Eng. Daniel Javier, Director of Quality and CSR of WORLDCOB, and Norka Patricia Otero, Legal Advisor of Social Responsibility and Volunteerism of Caritas Peru.

The CSR Meeting was an occasion to highlight the efforts of the Peruvian Companies that obtained the WORLDCOB CSR 2011.3 certification after rigorous verification processes. These Companies were able to demonstrate how they promote good labor relationships and maintain a firm responsibility to the society and the environment.
